Glowwise, considered

Your browser, your choices.

What is stored, why it is used and how to change your preference.

Last updated: 9 October 2026. Optional Google Analytics is off until you affirmatively accept it.

Essential browser storage

  • Saved products — gw_saved_v1: localStorage holds selected product identifiers until you remove them or clear site data.
  • Comparison — gw_compare_v1: localStorage holds up to three identifiers, their product type and selected variant until you clear the comparison or site data.
  • Preferences — gw_consent_v1: localStorage holds the optional analytics preference, policy version and update time until you change it or clear site data.
  • Form security — gw_form_guard: a Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite Strict cookie holds a signed random token for about one hour. A matching token protects contact/correction submissions.

Optional analytics

After acceptance, Google Analytics 4 measures basic page views on recognised editorial, catalog and tool routes. Tool-use events record only fixed names for finder completion, adding a comparison, saving a product and opening a retailer. They do not include selected products, lists, budgets, answers or free text. Query strings, referrer URLs, contact/correction pages, search pages and free-text inputs are excluded. Enhanced measurement and advertising signals are off. The _ga and stream-specific _ga cookies expire after 60 days. The property uses two-month user/event retention; aggregated reports may remain longer. Before acceptance or after rejection, Glowwise does not load the SDK or send analytics events.

Reject, reopen or withdraw

Use Cookie settings in any footer. Reject optional or switch the analytics preference off and save to withdraw it. Withdrawal removes accessible analytics cookies and reloads the page to unload the SDK. It does not retroactively erase data previously received by Google. Essential functionality remains available. Clearing site data removes this preference and the local saved/comparison lists; settings will ask again on a later visit.

If storage is blocked

Browsing and reading still work. The interface reports when it cannot persist a local list and may retain only the current page’s temporary state. Browser privacy settings, private windows and clearing data can affect persistence. Glowwise cannot recover a local list from another device.

Administration and security services

WordPress sets essential login/session cookies when an administrator signs in. Cloudflare may process requests for delivery/security; no assertion is made that these infrastructure services never use operational security cookies.
